What drew you into a career in wealth management, and how was your journey shaped your approach?

I started my career in non-profit administration, where I found a unique talent of being able to talk with community leaders about their wealth transfer. These conversations were very sensitive and required me to listen attentively and actively engage with the goals of the client. The conversations were always very mission specific, but I learned so much about the emotional impact of money during this time period. That was over 20 years ago, and today I still find that listening is one of the greatest skills of an advisor. My journey into wealth management is not the traditional journey but my early days in non-profit administration shaped me as a person who cares very much about giving back to the community and forming a trusted long term relationship with all clients.

What do you believe is the most important factor in building long-term relationships with clients?

The most important factor in building long term relationships with clients is authenticity.  Genuine connection is the foundation of enduring client partnerships.

How do you define success when working with a client?

The most powerful driver of long-term client loyalty is authenticity – being real, consistent and trustworthy. True lasting relationships with clients begin with this fundamental principle because people connect with what is real.

Outside of work, what's a hobby or interest that helps you stay balanced or inspired?

I enjoy challenging myself in and out of the work setting. When I am not working I greatly enjoy my hobby of beekeeping. Like my work, I am constantly learning new things, and dealing with uncontrollable variables like weather, disease and the temperament of the colony. The job of a beekeeper is to provide resources for the hive while allowing them to grow their intricate balance of life, guided by the queen.
